God Woke Me Up Today

Bright flowers beckon Sunlight strikes the rolling hills Peacefully silent

Jesus woke me up today by Mary Reed

The alarm went off, I jump out of bed,

The first thing I did was bow my head.

I thanked Jesus for a brand-new day,

and asked him to guide my way.

I feed the dogs and get my food,

I stub my toe, now I’m in a bad mood.

I get in the shower and slip on the soap.

Before I fall, I say “NOPE!”

not today! There’s a better way.

While I am dressing, I’m counting my blessings.

I choose the positive way

because Jesus woke me up today.

My happy poem by John Wallis

The Lord woke me up this morning

with breath in my lungs

I turned my face to heaven

 and praised Him.

I said, “Thank you Lord for

watching over me.

He said, “You’re welcome my son

Thank you for inviting me.”

You stir up the wind by Jill Phillips

Watching the clouds billowing across a grand sky.

In the distance the sun is setting.

I wonder where you’re going

and what is in store.

Birds chirping, flipping their wings

as they fly from branch to branch.

Wondering when you are going to make them wet

with rain

Will you stir up the wind again?

Looking forward by Robin Wallis

As the day turns to night,

I hope I got everything right.

I try to do my best,

Before I lay down to rest.

Tomorrow I’ll start a new day,

I hope it’s even better than today.

A haiku by Josh Phillips

Bright flowers beckon

Sunlight strikes the rolling hills

Peacefully silent
